Travel notice – Australian Tour 2023

Big news! I will be touring regional Australia in 2023 with my fiancé Camo in a 1965 GMC pickup. Over the next year we will build our car as we wait for our caravan to be built and I will hopefully finish up everyone’s tattoo work here in Brisbane. So heads up, this is the official callout to come and get your work finished!

We will also be roughly plotting the course of our trip over the next year. Yes! I will have my tattoo kit with me and plan to do guest spots around the country. I am also open to other kinds of work such as commercial artwork, painting etc. If my intermediate horse riding/handling skills can be put to work I am hella keen. Who knows what I’ll end up doing. This will be fun!

To follow our travels, and the preparation in the lead up to the trip – see our instragram @GMCingAUS

Please leave a comment below if you have any suggestions for places to visit, your location if you would like to get tattooed, or any tattoo shops I could guest at.

      1. Oh Drea.. please come to Hervey Bay and tattoo me! I would love a black cockatoo and kookaburra for a cover up and I will not go to anyone else for it! I don’t care how long I have to wait.. I love your work so much! Safe travels xxx

      1. I hope you can come to Canberra! I’d consider myself very lucky to get tattooed by you. But even if I don’t get the chance I still hope you can make it here; there’s a lot of lovely national parks and bush around here for hikes that’s worth a visit!

  1. Please come to Perth. Well more specifically Freo. Love your work soooo much. You can stay in my studio (but you’d have to share our bathroom lol) and you could meet my gorgeous kelpie pup Quinn

  2. Come to Newcastle! I’d recommend getting in touch with Diabolik tattoo studio here in Newcastle and seeing if they’d offer you a guest appearance.. Great town, great studio, you’ll love it here ?

      1. Heaps of hiking tracks, camping on the beach, beautiful national parks (crystal creek). Just an amazing place to enjoy the outdoors! I would love to see you come to Townsville aswell ☺️

  3. Hi,
Your trip will be amazing!! So many adventures!
My sister had a tattoo by you which is fabulous. I’m a bit older and sceptecalic who I choose to tattoo me! In short… i want an indigenous eagle wrapped under my breast. Is there someone you could recommend (in lieu of you of u) on the Sunshine Coast that might be amazing?
    Thanks

    1. Hi Tahnee,
If you are happy to wait, I will be accepting submissions for Spring bookings in late July.
For neo traditional on the Sunshine Coast I recommend Sam Clarke although however I believe he may be on a round trip of Australia himself.
Cree McCahill on the Coast does amazing neo traditional, if he is still accepting that work as his style is more traditional these days.
If you are after indigenous artwork I can recommend none other than Tatu Lu, however you will need to travel to Sydney to see her.

  4. I’d love for you to do some botanical work for me Drea, including some blue banded bees. I’m in Canberra but will travel to you 🙂

    1. Canberra is definitely on the list, I need to go to the national museum to gawk at their sizable thylacine collection.

  5. Will you be coming to Melbourne, Drea? If you do, that might just push me across the line to actually get my first tattoo. Love your work.

    1. No doubt I will be stopping in Melbourne or at least very close by for a bit during my trip around Australia. We wouldn’t want to miss the Great Ocean Road and Dandenong Ranges would we?

  6. Hey there! I’ve emailed you about me coming to Brisbane for your work, but if you’re out for an adventure- come to Townsville please! Aim for outside of summer months as it is HOTTTTTT!!

    1. Likely we will work our way up the east coast at some point.
Admittedly I don’t know a whole lot about Townsville, what are the best things to see and do there?

  7. Oh. My. Gosh. Come to Wollongong! OR go to my hometown Albury and I’ll come there! I’m a long time fan of your work!

  8. Head to Port Macquarie and I would suggest guest starring at Painted Horse Tattoo in Laurieton, if you head this way let me know, I’d love to get you to design and do my tatt!

  9. You should definitely come up to Cairns! Your tattoos are still my favourite and I’d love to add to the collection.
Heaps to see and do up this way- Daintree rainforest, Kuranda, Great Barrier Reef, the cape, etc.

  10. Hi Drea and Fiancé
I am based in Yeppoon Central Queensland and would love some botanicals.
I have never seen work like yours.. so true to life
I work in conservation and I recognise all the species so ready to get my first tattoo.

  11. Would love one of your tattoos on my shoulder / back with redgum blossoms leaves wattle banksia kangaroo paws, wildflowers, just like my back yard absolutely stunning!!! I’m an hour south of Perth and have room to park your home for a few days

  12. Hey Drea
I’m a huge fan & would love to just you here on Bundjalung Country in Main Arm. We have a 10 acre property & you could park up or stay in one of our guest caravans. We have lots of great bird life on the property too. And I’d love you to tattoo Mullumbimby’s famous Mt Chincogan on my back..amongst other local delights. I’m sure I could rustle up a few other locals too

    1. Keen for the Northern Rivers too 🙂 I have always wanted a Waratah but never been game enough until I have seen your work.

  13. Love to have you visit Ballarat, VIC – cool pubs & bars, great eats, excellent coffee, awesome regional art gallery, heaps of heritage buildings, super spesh botanic gardens, Lake Wendouree, Sovereign Hill, Kryal Castle and a heap of great produce. Plenty of great studios here, too.

Also, cool nearby towns: Creswick, Castlemaine, Daylesford – all have a lot of similar attributes to Ballarat just with their own distinct vibe on a smaller scale and definitely adds to the region ? Grampians are also nearby, which are pretty spectacular.

    1. Hey Drea, love your work and would love to meet you on the road and get a couple of tattoo’s with you. I’ve had a few friends recommended you who are based in Lismore. Any chance your heading south first? Also happy to travel puppysitter dependent. Quinn living on Gulibul Lands north west of Kyogle ????

  14. Hey Drea,
I’d love to get a tatoo while your travelling around….Im happy to do a little travel and come to you. I’m in NSW (near ACT).
    ???? thankyou

  15. I’ve wanted a botanic sleeve for years and haven’t found anyone I’d trust to do it – until now! I stumbled across you today while looking for a good example of a grevillea tattoo.
We’ll be back in Australia soon and I’ll book in anywhere on the QLD coast over winter. My daughter is in Ingham (great fishing, cassowaries, and general wet tropics beauty) but I’ll meet you in Townsville, Cairns, wherever!
I hope we can make this fit, I’ve been keen to get this for so long.

    1. Hi! I’m not sure where we are going first yet on the trip but keep an eye on my socials I will post updates of my whereabouts as I go so we can see if the dates line up.

  16. Come to Townsville!! We have beautiful magnetic island, crystal creek, paluma dam, just to name a few beautiful places to visit, relax in and enjoy. ????

  17. Please please please… come to Hervey Bay… I would absolutely love you to tattoo me. I am really wanting a blue winged kookaburra and a black cockatoo together. Safe travels

  18. Hi Drea, any chance that you have plans for visiting Adelaide? I have a small old butterfly and cloud that needs covering. It still needs to symbolise air and I LOVE Maggies and beautiful wattle. I don’t want it to be too big so a delicate, detailed hand will be essential to give some personality! No rush, just a heads-up would be awesome ????

  19. I’d love to get a piece if you’re working in the Pilbara region – I’m based in Karratha. It’s a beautiful area of the country with loads to see – Karijini has some amazing geography and Murujuga national park has incredible cultural heritage. The islands on the Burrup peninsula are stunning and there’s great fishing too if you’re in to it. Winter is definitely the best time to visit though to avoid the heat

  20. Hey! Your artwork is beautiful! Are you coming back Sunshine Coast way sometime? If so please let me know as I would love to book with you!

  21. Please please please come to Darwin! I’m sure you’d get plenty of business up here (including myself & my husband) & there’s no place like the Top End!
