How do I book an appointment?

Fill out my booking contact form.
Please email me or call the studio on (07) 3276 8718 to organise a consultation time if you would like to come into the studio to talk about your design and book your appointment. I do appreciate if you can fill out the form beforehand so I may build on your notes.

Do I need to put down a deposit?

Yes. Bookings require a minimum $50 deposit for small tattoos and up to $200 for full day sessions.

What is the purpose of the deposit?

The deposit is paid to protect both your time and your tattoo artist’s time. Once you have paid the deposit, your appointment time is secured and is no longer available to other clients. In the event of a late appointment change or no-show the deposit is forfeited to the artist to help compensate for their time spent consulting with you, designing your tattoo and the loss of income during the time that was scheduled for your appointment. Deposits are non-refundable.

Please see the deposit page for full deposit terms.

How do I pay?

Deposits may be payed by card via the deposits page. Please note that card processing fees apply.

Payment on the day in Cash is preferred.

Do I need to make any preparation for my appointment?

Yes! Please make sure that you:

  • Get a good night’s sleep
  • Eat a decent meal before you get tattooed.
  • Have a shower before your appointment and pay special attention to give the area to be tattooed a good soapy clean.
  • Clipper or shave the area if you can. Your fancy razor will be gentler on your skin than my disposable ones.
  • Get some cash out to bring with you.
  • Most importantly, slip, slop slap for 2 weeks prior, because if you get your skin sunburnt you CANNOT get tattooed.

For next level tattoo preppers:

  • Exfoliate and moisturise the area to be tattooed for a couple of weeks leading up to your appointment. This allows the stencil to hold for much longer, and makes the skin more supple to tattoo. This is very important on chests and backs.
  • Fill up on carbohydrates the day before to stock up your body’s glycogen stores.
  • Take a high strength vitamin C tablet daily for a least a fortnight prior to and after your appointment, to nourish the skin and promote healing. It won’t help with a cold

Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?

For all appointments is important to make sure to bring a valid piece of photo identification (i.e: driver’s license, passport, or other types of identification that include a photo and birth date). Without proper identification, you will be unable to fill out the mandatory release form and I will not be able to tattoo you.

For long sessions:

✦ Bring food/snacks, something to drink and some lollies or treats to keep your blood sugar levels up.
✦ Charger for your phone or device
✦ Some form of distraction i.e. Book, headphones to watch something on your phone/ device etc.
✦ If you tend to get sweaty you might like to bring an old towel to sit/lay on so you are not directly on plastic.

Also make sure you wear clothes that you will be comfortable in/ don’t mind getting stained by ink/ allows easy access to the area being tattooed.

If your tattoo placement requires a state of undress (ribs, sternum, chest, hips, upper thigh etc) I recommend looking at options such as strapless tops, string bikinis, nipple pasties/stick on bras, wrap dresses, button up shirts/vests to wear back to front or bringing an old towel or blanket to use to cover up if you feel the need. FYI our toilet facility requires a short trip outside.

How much will my tattoo cost? / How long will my tattoo take?

The answer to this varies on many factors such how detailed the design is, placement, the composition of the skin, colour or greywash, how still you sit etc. therefore can only be roughly quoted on a case by case basis.

Large/ongoing work is charged at an hourly rate of $180 p/h.
Smaller tattoos are quoted by piece. The studio minimum charge is $150.

As a general estimate full sleeves/ back jobs/ full torsos can take 25+ hours to complete.

I’m under 18, can I get tattooed?

No. It is illegal to tattoo a person under the age of 18, regardless of parental consent.
With the recent reforms these laws are now consistent Australia wide.

I’m pregnant/breastfeeding, can I get tattooed?

You can not get tattooed if you are pregnant. If you are breastfeeding it is recommended to wait at least nine months and until your baby is significantly weaned (that is, getting most of his/her nutrition from solids) before you get tattooed.

Can I see the sketch/drawing before the appointment?

I draw all my client’s tattoo designs up in order of appointments and due to my busy schedule you will need wait until the day of your appointment to see your design. Any minor changes can be made on the day. The booking form and consultation process ensure I have all the right information I need to draw your design that you will love.

99% of the time everyone loves the design I have prepared! If you arrive and don’t like the design I have prepared at all, I’m not going to force you get it tattooed. I can reschedule the appointment to revise the design if I don’t have time to change it on the day.

Please note this is different to if I have followed your instructions but you change your mind. In this instance I will need to charge an additional drawing fee if I have already drawn the design.

What if I get sick before my appointment?

The very minute you think you’re getting sick please get in touch as soon as possible in order to give us the option to reschedule you if need as the 48 hour cancellation/reschedule policy still applies.

If you are sick, running a fever or very recently getting over an illness, your immune system will be down, your pain threshold will be weakened and the healing of your tattoo will be compromised. Bringing an illness to the studio may also compromise the health of the artists and other clients being tattooed. If you show up to your appointment sick we reserve the right to cancel your appointment and your deposit will be forfeit.

Do you use vegan ink?

Yes, all my inks are vegan.

How do you pronounce your name?

‘Dray-ah’. Rhymes with John Mayer 😉
